Jonathan Stark (stark @ starks.org) |
I am looking for information on both the ancestors and descendants of Daniel and Polly Stark, who were both born around 1802-3 in Kentucky and Viginia respectively, and lived in Scott County Indiana, where in the 1850 census of Jennings Township, Scott County, IN, they apparently had at least 3 children; Sim Samuel, Elizabeth, and James W. Stark. |

Looking for infomration on James Stark born in 1700's. He was my ggg grandfather and I have little info on him. In 1798 helived in Granville County, N.C. when he did his will ( I have a copy). I would very much like to know who his parents were. In 1798, his wife was Jean or Jane Rowland Stark. Their children were Sally, Joh, William and Rowland (my gg grandfather). |

I've become convinced that my Stark line runs from Aaron the immigrant through his son William (wife Elizabeth Pierce) to another William (wife Experience Lamb) to Jonathan (wife Sarah Laycock). I recognize that there is some disagreement here, but that's the line as I understand it to be. Naturally, I'd enjoy discussion of these folks with others who share the line. |
I believe that my line comes through two sons of Jonathan Stark and Sarah Laycock, Daniel (wife Elizabeth Wells) and Christopher (wife Martha Vineyard). I realize there is a group of Stark researchers who thinks otherwise, and once again I would be happy to exchange views and evidence with anyone who wishes to explore same.
Daniel's son Abraham and Christopher's daughter Sarah, cousins, married--as so many Stark cousins seem to have; their daughter Rebecca married Peter Chastain, and my line continues through their daughter Sarah (who married James Vanderpool). I have found a few folks who are also descended from Abraham and Sarah but hardly anyone who shares my line through Sarah and James Vanderpool. I would especially invite anyone who does to contact me so that we might attack our areas of mutual or separate ignorance.
